Meet the Founders
Dr. Manoj Swaminathan, MBBS, MPH – Founder
Dr. Manoj Swaminathan is a public health physician with over 19 years of experience in pharmacovigilance and drug safety. He has held global leadership positions in pharmacovigilance across major pharmaceutical companies, building and leading safety operations across 100+ countries. His career spans medical review, regulatory compliance, safety database implementation, vendor management, and GxP auditing. He has successfully managed inspections, and led digital transformation initiatives for multiple organizations.
Dr. Swaminathan founded VigiServe Foundation on May 23, 2020, with a mission to empower public health by ensuring safe medicines and promoting a culture of reporting adverse drug experiences. He holds an MBBS from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and an MPH in Pharmacoepidemiology from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
At 40, after achieving financial independence, he created VigiServe to provide free certification courses in pharmacovigilance, making specialized knowledge accessible to anyone committed to drug safety.

Rukmini Manoj, M.A., B.Ed – Co-founder & Director
Rukmini Manoj is an educationist and social entrepreneur with a deep commitment to accessible learning and community empowerment. She brings expertise in educational leadership, curriculum development, and nonprofit management to VigiServe Foundation.
Her career includes teaching across IB curriculum programs, lecturing in economics, and working as a freelance educator. She understands how to make complex subjects approachable and how to build learning systems that serve diverse audiences.
As Co-founder and Director of VigiServe Foundation since May 2020, Rukmini oversees strategic training initiatives. Her vision has been central to creating a foundation that doesn’t just teach, it actively supports career development and professional growth.
She holds an M.A. in Political Science and Government and a B.Ed in Economics and English from the University of Mumbai.
